As Ben Franklin said, "In wine there is wisdom; in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria". In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces.  In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting. Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of crap. This valuable information is provided as a public service to improve your “quality of life.”

Group Runs / Activities This Week
Tuesday:       5:30 PM Group Run - Vardaman Center for the Performing Arts.  Please bring a sandbag (filled) and/or a sump pump.
Tuesday:       Friends, today is Mrs. Dr. Bradshaw’s birthday.  She will sing a medley of Gershwin favorites during the group run.
Wednesday:   Please submit a urine sample to Nurse Franken, so she can determine if you are "chocolate desiring" or "chocolate indifferent."
Thursday:      5:30 PM Group Run - Ada Vardaman Warren Q. Madden Heritage Memorial Park
Saturday:       A day of rest for the Des Moines Marathon participants.  However:  I can organize a group run if there is interest.
Sunday:         Happy Birthday / Mother’s Day to Julie “The Vardo” / “Our Mother” Vardaman. 
Sunday:         Des Moines Marathon and Half Marathon
