I am going to Des Moines tonight to see a football game. I can stop and pick up packets for any runners who respond to this email. I am running on Sunday morning, but will not carpool, as I have plans to stay in DM after the race.

I am leaving around 4PM so get back to me before then if you want me to grab your race packet. _______________________

First Things First

Here is the most excellent group run information for tonight from our most excellent VardoFriend Sara:

I'm in charge of Tuesday's route.  We are on schedule for a 4 -7 and 10 miler.  Here is the 4 and 7 miler and the 10 miler can do both and shave off a little if they want.    I'll have a water stop on the 7 miler and then at the end.  Starting point is the Community Center. “  Sara

Church News

Bishop Sacco has decreed that women can no longer serve as ushers at Our Lady of Vardo Church.  “I find that women, in general, just aren’t competent and can’t handle responsibility”, he stated after Saturday morning services. “Plus, you just can’t trust them with money”, he added.

Twin Cities Marathon
at

Here's the scoop so far on the Twin Cities Marathon.

Right now, we have three rooms reserved with two double beds in each for Saturday and Sunday night at the St. Paul Riverfront Crowne Plaza plus Bishop Sacco's room on Saturday Evening at the same Hotel.   That means there are  about 8 beds, and floor space for those going.  We can discuss in the next week or two who will be in the Vardo Motorcade going up and when.  Right now it looks like Saturday morning will be a good bet on going up.

Packet pickup for the Marathon and 10-miler are as follows:

Packet pick-up hours are noon to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5 and 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6.  Confirmation booklet and photo identification are required to pick up your race number.
