“Please visit www.iagovcup.com <http://www.iagovcup.com/>  for information on this year's Governor's Cup to be held September 12, 2009, in the Capitol area of downtown Des Moines.  The race benefits the YSS branch in Des Moines called Iowa Homeless Youth Centers.  The primary focus of Iowa Homeless Youth Centers is to reach homeless youth and provide transitional living for youth. This year, it appears there will even be a new group of moms with strollers participating!”

“The race is on the same day as the Iowa / Iowa State football game; however, if you are a diehard fan, you can still make the game after the race. Better yet, there will be a Cyclone / Hawkeye tailgating venue on the bridge downtown that morning, so you can always finish the race, attend the tailgating on the bridge, and then watch the game at the sports bars downtown.  For those not into the ISU / Iowa game, you can follow up the Governor's Cup Race with a visit to the Farmer's Market downtown - always a fun event.  I hope many Vardo’s participate.”    Margaret

Attached to this fine VardoGram is a picture purportedly taken by Father Fencl of what reportedly is Mr. Delaney at the Copper Creek Triathlon on Sunday.   We need a tasteful (or marginally tasteless) caption for the picture.  Winner to receive whatever that orange thing is  Mr. Delaney appears to be intimate with.
