First Up:  A Fine Note From Cedar Falls, Home Of The UNI Panthers

Scott Gall, owner of The Runners Flat store in Cedar Falls, speaketh thusly:

This is Scott Gall from The Runner's Flat in Cedar Falls and we are just wanting to offer a couple nights to Team Vardo that might be of interest.
1) Team Night-added discounts on everything in the store to do a private "team night" for shoe fitting, gait analysis.  You save more by doing so after hours when we can focus on helping your group w/out any distractions.

2) Snowshoe Adventure-sometime this winter we could travel to you to do a snowshoe clinic followed by a snowshoe hike/run.  If interested, we just need a solid date to assure enough snowshoes, etc.

Thanks for your time and just let us know if any of this might be of good interest. Scott Gall

And Now:  Mr. Delaney Runs His First Marathon. Survives, Succeeds, And Files Report

Twin Cities marathon report.  Start temp was mostly sunny and 40. Finish temp was cloudy and 40, ideal for running. Over 300,000 spectators lined this beautiful route around the lakes and rivers. Finishing time was 4:07:17.  Mr. Delaney

(Editor's Note: I saw Mr.  Delaney yesterday.  He was walking kinda funny . . .but, shoot the horse and paint me red, 4:07 for a first marathon, and he has asthma . . . damn, Miss Kitty, that's VardoRiffic.)

Another Marathon Finisher This Weekend:  Sister Stacey

Plenty of chatter on the Interpol wire the past two days regarding Sister Stacey Roberts and her fine performance at a marathon held in Austria or Germany or one of those other South African nations.  4:18 was her finish time.  Special Agent Rich Bundy (probably not his real name) provides the link with further details:
Sparkasse-Marathon   Update:  Sister Stacey now in custody of Brother Mullins, who is escorting Ms. Roberts to the safe house in Ames.

Tonight's Group Run Routes. From The Kitchen Of Jamile

Tuesday night calls for two distances: 4 miles and 3 miles, respectively.

4-mile runners enjoy the Four Mile Fall Leaves Frolic:

3-mile runners enjoy the same route; however, continue east on 6th street, south on Northwestern, then back to the Community Center.

Caveat:  If frolicking expeditiously, one may miss the fall splendor. See ya Tuesday!   Jamile
