I'm in charge of the route Saturday 12/5  and per Clayton's suggestion I'm incorporating the Elks' pancake feed into the route - unfortunately, I will once again be the phantom route mistress as I will be outta town this weekend.  (Start time is 8 AM)       Barb Wheelock

Start at the Elks at 6th and Douglas, head to Duff

North on Duff to 30th 

West on 30th to Hoover

South on Hoover to 24th

West on 24th to Stange

South on Stange to University Blvd

University Blvd to S 4th

S 4th to Kellogg

North on Kellogg to 8th

West on 8th to Douglas

Then you'll be most pleased with the fine attached picture, snapped by Brother Rasmussen. Fifteen Vardos and one dogette attended the run around the lake.  The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead when the skies of November turn gloomy.


The Most Excellent Annual Team Vardo Awards Banquet

Yes, indeed, this fine soiree will be held on December 18th at the Pizza Garden, 5:30 PM.  Bring your medals, awards, and maybe that quilt you have been stitching together all year.  And now here's more on the party from the Founding Aunt of Team Vardo, Kori Heuss:

 

White Elephant Gift:  Search your home, search your neighborhood, search the ditches, but bring something interesting (wrapped please) to place on the white elephant table for our gift exchange.  You do not need to spend money.  The present does not have to be nice.  Looking for a place for that old Millie Vanilli soundtrack?  This is it. 

 

Schwag Table:  Purchased a running shirt that is three sizes two small?  Got a Carb Boom in a race bag but Carb Boom makes you fart?  Bring all new and gently used gear to exchange on the schwag table and pick something you like in exchange. 

 

Awards Ceremony:  New this year,Team Vardo awards.  Please review the attached file (VardoAwards.pdf) and nominate your friends.  Winner's awards will be presented at the banquet on the 18th.  So, please email your nominations to kori@heuss.com before December 11th to allow me time to make the perfect award presentation.
