Brother Mullins With An Immediate Bulletin
"Heads up! Rich (Brother Bundy) almost fell through an open manhole this morning on our run. We think the lid got popped off by a snowplow. In the early light the hole looked just like normal lid until we were already striding over it. We found the lid in a snowpile further down the sidewalk and put it back on, but damn that was close. So anyway, please be careful out there and stay alert." Mike Mullins

Brother Rasmussen With The Memphis Marathon Report
"The Memphis Marathon is fun. I like that it is a Saturday run and the locals are excited to see the runners. The people on Beale Street are awesome! My run didn't quite match fun in the city, but I'm not going to complain. After 2 failed training attempts for Memphis, it is done! I had decided on a 3:42. At just under 20 miles, I could still see the 3:40 pace group just up the road from me. I walked about 20 steps drinking, and when I planted my right foot to take off running again, I about fell to the ground. I made it about 2 blocks as I watched the 3:45 and 3:50 groups pass by, downed a couple advil from a spectator and a beer from the hash runners free beer stop, and was able to jog / walk in to the finish. The dr. at the med area said they were seeing a lot of runners with a similar injury, he thinks because of the side-slope on some of the route in the middle miles. He also said, after giving me grief for finishing, 'runners are a strange bunch'. Personally, I think he is right!" Tim Rasmussen
Here's Something Different
"Hi Team Vardo, My name is: Dr. Zachary Ward. My email address is: drzward@fastmail.fm I'm putting together a forum on the long distance athletics and the effect of a short leg (often identified by orthopedists, physical therapists, podiatrists, and chiropractors as the "short functional leg") and its relationship to injury, balance, and endurance. Would anyone in your running group be interested in participating, or at the very least, attending?"
Best Regards,
Dr. Zachary Ward

Mrs. Dr. Professor Schulz Erin Pederson With Tonight's Route
"I think this'll work for the 5-mile route tomorrow…although I don't know how the blizzarding will affect the surfaces. I may or may not be there depending on how treacherous it is. I like warm cozy spaces and unbroken ankles. Or it could be fun to scramble through the winter wonderland! The route goes up Ridgewood to 13th, then south on the Brookside trail, continuing south through Stewart Smith Park, then east to Duff, north to 5th St., & then west back to City Hall." http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=339324 Erin Pederson
